Currently Seeking: Web Engineers & a Lead Designer
Social Print Studio is building the next generation of web and mobile apps for an image-centric world. Our current business model is pretty straightforward: We print pictures. While this is working great, our ambitions lay beyond the simplicity of our current products. As we grow, many opportunities are opening up for us, and we need your help to execute and seize them. Our goal is to build a strong organization and brand that will stay relevant for decades to come.
The SPS team prides itself on an open, proactive, and results-driven culture while pushing clean design and code. We are motivated and passionate people guided by a strong set of ethical values. Our Primary HQ is located in Berkeley California, with a small storefront space in San Francisco and a hacker studio in sunny San Diego.
We don't really believe in Job openings as discrete slots to fill. We are a growing organization, and growth requires a range of diverse skills. Ultimately We want to fill the company with as many unique and conscientious people as possible. Even if you don't fit the descriptions to the T, you might be just who we are looking for.
We are looking for a great developer with proven programming experience building scalable web applications. You should be comfortable working on both the front and back end. Ideally you are passionate about clean visual design and responsive interfaces. We work in Ruby and Javascript primarily, and enjoy experimenting with new technologies and libraries.
We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Designer who understands the internet and wants to define its future. The right candidate will take responsibility for the core of our UI/UX and Visual design challenges and work intimately with our founder. You should have experience designing web apps from ideation to pixel-perfect detailed mock-ups. You work quickly and iteratively, appreciate biting critique, and can take a stab at copywriting and brand identity when it comes up. Working knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 are not required but would seal the deal.
Once you Join the team, your first experience will be a breath of fresh air. We don't operate like the other guys in the corporate world. We move quick and work hard, but our biggest goal is to ensure that everyone is learning and has the space to progress on their own terms. In other words, you won't have a boss breathing down your neck asking you to hit crazy deadlines each week. You won't have to think about being late for work anymore; Come in when you are in the mood or work from home. Want to take a vacation? No problem.
